Ander Herrera has launched a staunch defence of Jose Mourinho's Manchester United tenure, insisting the old Red Devils boss "tried everything".

Mourinho was given his marching orders past United in December after overseeing the lodge'due south worst-e'er start to a Premier League campaign.

He was replaced on a caretaker footing past Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and the Norwegian'south inflow sparked a sensational turnaround in course which saw him land the job on a permanent ground.
